Zihuatanejo

A friend of mine stays at La Quinta de Don Andres when he flies into Zihuatinejo  and loves it.  He then takes the bus up to Patzcuaro with connections to Morelia, Guadelajara or down to Acapulco with connections to Taxco or Cuernavaca.  Reservations needed for any holidays.  There are many other alternatives Zihua.

I stayed at Hotel Irma in Zihua 3 weeks ago, it was
great. Nice colonial style hotel with 2 swimming
pools. The hotel is on a hillside overlooking the
ocean, and you can walk down a staircase to "Playa
Madera". I paid $1,317 pesos per night for a doble
room, air conditionar, tv, and balcony. You can leave
the balcony door open at night and hear the ocean
waves a wonderful experience. Its not a fancy hotel
like you would find in Ixtapa.

My wife and I went to Zihua at the start of Jan. We stayed at Brisas
del Mar and were satisfied. It's the #1 rated hotel in Zihua at
traveladvisor.  Very expensive!
