Hotel Aeropuerto
At the Morelia airport, 50 meters from terminal.
http://www.hotelaeropuertomorelia.com/

I stayed there about 6 weeks ago. It's clean, pretty modern and
somewhat spare in the decor. But the beds were fairly comfortable,
there was lots of hot water and good water pressure. The staff was
friendly and helpful. I did not see any porters or bell boys when I
checked in or checked out, but knowing Mexico, if a guest really
needed help with their baggage it would no doubt materialize. For
being so close to the airport it was also remarkably quiet.

I think my room was about $70USD before taxes and it had 2 double
beds, TV, desk and dresser. It may be a little more costly than other
hotels, but it's literally a stones throw from the airport, and when
you've got a 5:30 am flight, that nearness counts and price is less of
an issue.

The only suggestion I might make is to eat well before you check in.
They have mostly packaged food available, or you have to walk over to
the airport where there are 2 restaurants upstairs. I also think that
it's probably a more useful hotel for those early morning flights out
of Morelia rather than the late night arrivals. I think if I were on
one of the flights that arrives after 11:00 p.m. that I'd be inclined
to go ahead and take a taxi into Morelia rather than spend a few hours
at Hotel Aeropuerto. If Patzcuaro or Uruapan was my final destination
then checking in after a late night arrival might be a reasonable plan.

I liked the hotel well enough to give it a recommendation on the Trip
Advisor web site. It serves it's purpose and does it pretty well.

Casa en el Campo
is new hotel on the road behind Costco.
It is a pretty, up-scale hotel in the middle of an orange-tree grove. I was
shown one master suite and one junior suite. Neither was a suite as both
had only one room. The restaurant is small and at that time was only
serving breakfast. It is open to the public, so you can go for breakfast
and get a tour of the hotel. I went about a month ago, and it seemed that
only one guest was staying there. The hotel did not seem very Mexican and
is located a long way from restaurants for lunch or dinner.

The hotel is located a short distance from Carmelitas, the place that makes
the mermeladas, ates, and rompope that are sold at the Casa de Artesanias.
Carmelitas is a fun place to visit, especially if you get to walk by the
orchard and see the waterfall and acueducto.
